My name is Peter Thorne and I live in the town of Lydney, Gloucestershire where I was born and have now returned after 40 years. Lydney is bordered by the Forest of Dean to the north and the River Severn to the south and within easy reach of the M4/M5 and surrounding areas.
My background was the Armed Forces as a mechanical engineer. When I left the forces, I settled in the North East of Scotland where I worked in the oil trade, then I ran my own business in the security sector.
I held many meetings and have done a little acting, as well as speaking at educational seminars and conferences, so I am well versed in public speaking.
I am now semi-retired and wish to give something back using my life experiences and choices which stand me in good stead for my role as an Independent Civil Celebrant.
As a forces veteran I have an Army Uniform and because of my Scottish connections and also have a Kilt outfit, both of which I would be happy to wear for a forces or Scottish themed wedding ceremony or Funeral service.
I am also an Ordained Minister of the ULCA so can carry out fully religious ceremonies if that is the wish of the families.
I have conducted services over a wide area in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Bristol & Bath, Wiltshire, Somerset & South Wales over the last few years.
