Hearts and Souls Celebrant

A Celebrant means “a person who leads a ceremony such as a Marriage or a Funeral”, and is a professionally qualified person, usually from a non-clergy background, who is trained to officiate Funeral & Wedding ceremonies. You will find that most Celebrants are members of a professional association (AOIC) and have full insurance cover. If you cannot see this information mentioned on their sites, then do please ask.

Now we explain the differences between Independent and Humanist Celebrants!

Basically, the difference between the two is that Independent Celebrants can and will conduct a Funeral Service or Wedding Ceremony with all, some or no religious content. The Humanist Celebrants are mainly atheists will not, have any religious content at all, I must add to be fair, they are not all that hard lined.

What services do we provide?

I can and will perform the Wedding Ceremony or Funeral Service in any location of your choice, without the constraints of what other factions may advise factions will advise.

I support you & your family from the first meeting to the end of the service or ceremony by acting as a calming presence on the day, leading the service or ceremony with warmth and dignity.

I can meet you at your home or any location you feel happy with to discuss the ceremony or service and start the process of writing the script, if, this can’t be done in person, it can be done via a telephone or video call.

If it is a wedding ceremony, I work with you as a couple, to script the wedding ceremony of your choice and co-ordinate with a planner, photographer etc. to give that special touch on your day and be a calming influence.

If it is a funeral service, I work with you, your family and friends most closely connected with the loved one who has passed, to learn more about your needs and their history. This is so I can prepare a tribute that ensures the service justly reflects their life and personality with honour and dignity.

Once the script is ready, I will send you a draft over for you to read and then we can alter it until you are happy with the final ceremony or service.

I believe in ceremonies without limits, with honesty, integrity and full transparency. One area you can see this is on my website, there is a very clear and detailed Ceremony Price list detailing all options. 

I can advise on practical matters, such as the amount of time available for the ceremony at the crematorium, or other ways of holding a ceremony if there can be no attendance at the crematorium

I will liaise with the Wedding Arrangers or Funeral Directors so that all of your intentions are adhered to, also to anyone who will be reading a prayer or a tribute, poem, or piece of prose, to ensure all goes smoothly. I will ensure that the ceremony or service we are creating turns out to be a beautiful and a fitting tribute to you as a couple or to the one that you held dear and to ensure that you and the wishes of the family are carried out in full.

I will guide your family through the day of the ceremony or service, and ensure that it is time sensitive and is not rushed.
